What a colourful month for Un Mariage au Paradis! I had the immense privilege of capturing beautiful and meaningful weddings. But through it all, one wedding really stood out from the crowd: the wedding of Erika & Jiri, a couple from Czech Republic, that said ‘I do’ in Mauritius, at Shandrani Resort & Spa. Wedding and tattoos are undoubtedly the winning duo of a beautiful day under the sun and on the beach.
When wedding photos and tattoos tell a story
Who said you had to hide your tattoos on your wedding day? With Erika & Jiri, we have captured moments that prove that tattooed grooms are simply beautiful. It’s not every day that I get to meet such a glamorous couple. Today again, I do not get tired of looking at their wedding photos, which have been unanimously approved by the newlyweds. They were beautifully surprised. Erika was graceful, glamourous and trendy. I admire the idea of showing off your tattoos on the day of your wedding, despite the prejudices that some people may have. The bride was beautiful, sexy and unashamed. When we combine tattoos and photos, it is a beautiful story that we choose to put forward. With a tattoo, we cannot hide; we’ve got to assume the rock look.
Are you of those who think that wedding dress and tattoo do not match? You will quickly change your mind by going through the photos of this tattooed wedding at Shandrani, a Beachcomber hotel located in the South of Mauritius.
Photos by the beach, on the warm sand, at sunset, with the hair and the dress in the wind … it was a photo session like no other. As a result: the photos are worth a thousand words. The images show us beautifully that wedding and tattoos go hand in hand. I was happy to think outside the box for this original wedding in Mauritius.
